GreyBox is an Azure hosted service deployment notifier, created by Mike Wood, Azure MVP and Cloud Specialist at Strategic Data Systems.
The GreyBox application is designed to alert a user if their Windows Azure compute services are currently running, or are even simply deployed, since unexpected costs can arise if Azure compute services are accidentally left running in the cloud after a presentation or class. Prince describes it as a, “...great and free tool..” The name GreyBox comes from the concept of wanting to have the compute service slots empty, which the Azure Portal represents as a graphical grey box.
