New Professional Intelligence Organization for Ohio
06/10/08 - Fairborn, Ohio June 10, 2008: Fairborn's Tower Facility saw the inaugural meeting of the newly-formed Ohio Chapter of the National Military Intelligence Association (NMIA). 30 representatives from Wright Patterson Air Force Base, national and local contractors, including Ball Aerospace & Technology Group, CACI, DeMolet Consulting, and Strategic Data Systems, and others attended the meeting.
NMIA Ohio is only the second local chapter of the broader national organization, recognizing the innovation and intelligence focus of the region.
With a growing intelligence community around Wright Patterson Air Force Base and throughout Ohio, the NMIA Ohio Chapter is specifically designed to support its unique goals and demands. "NMIA Ohio can become a key element in the professional development of the civilian and military workforce at NASIC, HQ AFMC and the other intelligence-related activities located at Wright-Patterson," said Col. Karen A. Cleary, Commander of NASIC. "They are the cornerstone for the interface between the government and the commercial organizations that support government development and sustainment."
During the inaugural meeting, officers for the NMIA Ohio Chapter were appointed and committee chairs were selected to lead efforts around membership, events, programs, education, and organization liaisons.
Mr. Dennis DeMolet will serve as President. DeMolet is President of DeMolet Consulting and is a leading expert on Small Business and Veterans' Business affairs. He is an active proponent for disabled veteran, small business, and non-profit organizations.
Mr. Kevin Sullivan will serve as Vice President. Sullivan is Vice President of Intelligence Programs for MacAulay Brown, Inc., a $150M/year provider of intelligence, information operations, electronic warfare, and technical service solutions. He has also served as an acquisition lead for the National Air and Space Intelligence Center, and as a Senior Program Manager of intelligence systems for General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems.
Mr. Keith Stafford will serve as Secretary. Stafford is Managing Partner of Strategic Data Systems, a leading custom software development firm that specializes in a variety of applications including those that are mission critical and highly complex.
Mr. Rich Juarez will serve as Treasurer. Juarez is Senior Program Manager for Ball Aerospace & Technology Group. He is a Senior Program Manager for Ball Aerospace & Technology Corp. and has over 35 years of experience with DOD operations, R&D, and intelligence programs as an Air Force officer and defense contractor.
NMIA Ohio will meet monthly with its next meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 24th. The lunch event will be held from 11:30 am to 1pm at the WPAFB Banquet Center. The cost is $15.

According to Cleary, "NMIA constitutes a network that can be leveraged to enhance our knowledge of national-level intelligence activities and access to key personnel." She explained, "NMIA's framework enables its members the opportunity to participate in service activities that will serve to improve public appreciation for the contributions and accomplishments of Air Force and national intelligence professionals."
